Anti-LGBTQI hate is rising fast across the globe, and LGBTQI young people are the most vulnerable to it. Not only do they have to cope with this increasingly hostile climate, but they also face higher rates of school bullying, homelessness, violence, and discrimination in all aspects of life (education, healthcare, employment, etc.). This often results in having to hide or disguise their true identity, and leads to higher risks of developing mental health issues and suicidal thoughts.
At IGLYO, we put LGBTQI young people first: We advocate for their rights, build their skills and confidence, and offer them a close-knit youth-led international network. Our initiatives include international training and events, capacity-building programmes, intercultural exchanges and peer learning, thematic research and advocacy actions, online resources, networking activities, and many more.
This summer, we're bringing together LGBTQI young people, activists, volunteers, staff members and supporters from across Europe to move for inclusion, wellbeing and community.
Whether you walk, run, cycle, swim or take part in any other physical activity, every kilometre counts towards our collective goal of 5,000 km.
Each kilometre for this fundraiser will help us to provide LGBTQI youth with a community that loves, supports and protects them, and build a world where queer youth can be their authentic selves without apology.
Let's move together and reach 5,000 km!
