OuiRace allows registered users to nominate a charity they wish to support
before that charity has authorized the platform. By submitting a nomination,
the user accepts the following responsibilities:
The user nominates a charity in good faith and represents they have a
legitimate interest in supporting it.
The user acknowledges they have NOT obtained the charity's prior
authorization to receive donations through OuiRace.
The user agrees the fundraiser page will remain private (unlisted) until
the charity completes onboarding and verification.
The user undertakes NOT to represent the fundraiser as officially endorsed
by the charity until activation.
The user expressly agrees that OuiRace may contact the charity on their
behalf to facilitate onboarding.
Fundraiser visibility and status
Fundraisers created via nomination remain "unlisted" until the named charity
completes onboarding:
Unlisted fundraisers are NOT indexed by search engines and do NOT appear
in any public listing on the OuiRace platform; they are accessible only
via a direct link.
Any visitor who reaches a pending fundraiser via its direct link sees a
clear "pending verification" notice explaining the status of the page.
Donations CANNOT be collected on pending fundraisers. Only
pre-registration of donation interest is available until the fundraiser
activates.
Pre-registration and notification consent
Visitors who pre-register on a pending fundraiser agree to the following
data-handling terms:
The visitor provides their email address and, optionally, an indicative
intended donation amount.
This data is stored solely for the purpose of notifying the visitor when
the fundraiser activates and donations open.
Pre-registration does NOT constitute a donation commitment. The visitor is
in no way legally bound to donate the indicated amount, nor to donate at
all.
Pre-registrants may unsubscribe from notifications at any time via the
link included in the activation email.
If the fundraiser is archived without ever activating, all
pre-registration data is deleted within 30 days of the archival.
Fundraiser lifecycle and 30-day archival
OuiRace applies an automatic lifecycle policy to nominated fundraisers to
avoid keeping users in indefinite uncertainty:
If the nominated charity does NOT complete OuiRace onboarding within 30
days of the nomination, the fundraiser is automatically archived.
The nominating user is notified by email of the archival and may, at their
discretion, create a new fundraiser pointing to an already-verified
charity.
Archived fundraiser data is retained for 90 days for audit purposes, after
which it is permanently deleted (subject to any longer mandatory legal
retention period).
