Learn the basics of creating an account and navigating the platform

What is OuiRace and how does it work?

OuiRace is a connected race platform that allows you to participate in running events from anywhere in the world. You register for a race, complete it using your GPS watch or smartphone, and your performance is automatically recorded and ranked against other participants.

The platform supports integration with Garmin, Coros, Wahoo, Polar, Suunto, and Strava to automatically sync your activities.

How do I create an OuiRace account?

Creating an account is simple:

  1. Download the OuiRace app from the App Store or Google Play, or visit ouirace.eu
  2. Click "Sign Up" and enter your email address
  3. Verify your email and complete your profile
  4. Connect your GPS watch or Strava account (optional but recommended)

You can also sign up using your Google account for faster registration.

What devices are compatible with OuiRace?

OuiRace is compatible with most popular GPS watches and running apps:

  • Garmin - All Forerunner, Fenix, Enduro, Venu watches
  • Coros - Pace, Apex, Vertix
  • Suunto - All Suunto App compatible watches
  • Polar - Vantage, Grit X, Pacer
  • Wahoo - Elemnt Rival
  • Strava - Any activity recorded on Strava
  • Smartphone - Via the OuiRace app or connected apps
Is OuiRace free to use?

Creating an OuiRace account is completely free. You can browse races, create your profile, and connect your devices at no cost.

Races have registration fees set by organizers. Prices vary depending on the event and chosen distance. Some races may be free, especially charity fundraisers.

How does a connected race work?

A connected race works in several steps:

  1. Registration - Choose your race and distance, then complete your registration
  2. Race period - Complete your race during the period defined by the organizer (usually several days)
  3. GPS recording - Record your activity with your GPS watch or smartphone
  4. Sync - Your activity is automatically synced via Garmin Connect, Strava, etc.
  5. Validation - Our algorithm verifies that the distance and criteria are met
  6. Ranking - Your time is added to the real-time leaderboard

Race Registration

How do I register for a race?

To register for a race:

  1. Browse available races on the homepage or use the search
  2. Click on the race you're interested in
  3. Select your desired distance
  4. Fill in your participant information
  5. Proceed to secure payment
  6. Receive your confirmation by email

You can view your registrations in the "My Registrations" section of your profile.

Can I register multiple people?

Yes, OuiRace allows group registration. During your registration, you can add additional participants. Each participant must have:

  • A valid first and last name
  • An email address (to receive confirmations)
  • The information required by the organizer

Each participant will receive their own confirmation and must connect their own GPS device to participate.

What payment methods are accepted?

OuiRace accepts the following payment methods via our partner Stripe:

  • Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay

All payments are secure and PCI-DSS compliant.

How do I know if my registration is confirmed?

After your registration, you will immediately receive:

  • A confirmation email with your registration details
  • Your invoice as an attachment
  • Important information about the race

You can also verify your registration in the "My Registrations" section of your profile at any time.

Can I transfer my registration to someone else?

Registration transfer depends on the organizer's policy. Some organizers allow transfers, others do not.

To request a transfer:

  1. Check the event's terms and conditions
  2. Contact the organizer via the race page or contact form
  3. Follow the instructions provided by the organizer

GPS & Watch Connectivity

Connect your GPS watch and resolve sync issues

How do I connect my Garmin watch?

To connect your Garmin watch to OuiRace:

  1. Go to My Profile > Apps & Devices
  2. Click "Connect Garmin"
  3. Sign in to your Garmin Connect account
  4. Authorize OuiRace to access your activities

Once connected, your activities will be automatically synced after each run.

How do I connect my Strava account?

To connect Strava to OuiRace:

  1. Go to My Profile > Apps & Devices
  2. Click "Connect Strava"
  3. Sign in to your Strava account
  4. Authorize OuiRace to access your activities

All your Strava activities of type "Running" will be considered for your races.

How do I connect Coros, Suunto, Polar, or Wahoo?

For Coros, Suunto, Polar, and Wahoo watches, connection is done via Strava:

  1. Set up automatic sync from your watch to Strava
  2. Connect your Strava account to OuiRace

This way, every activity recorded on your watch will automatically be available on OuiRace via Strava.

My activity isn't syncing, what should I do?

If your activity isn't syncing:

  1. Check your watch sync - Make sure your watch has synced with Garmin Connect or Strava
  2. Check your connection - Go to My Profile > Apps & Devices and verify the service is connected
  3. Wait a few minutes - Syncing can take up to 15 minutes
  4. Manual sync - In some cases, you can force a sync from your watch app

Can I use my phone's GPS?

Yes, you can participate in races with your smartphone's GPS in several ways:

  • Via the Strava app on your phone
  • Via any running app connected to Strava

Make sure you have good GPS reception and don't put the app in the background during the race.

Can I connect multiple watches?

Yes, you can connect multiple services (Garmin + Strava for example). The system will automatically use the most recent activity matching the race period.

If you have multiple activities, we use the one that best matches the race criteria.

Payments & Refunds

Is the payment secure?

Yes, all payments on OuiRace are 100% secure. We use Stripe, the world leader in online payments:

  • PCI-DSS Level 1 compliance
  • SSL/TLS encryption
  • 3D Secure authentication
  • Real-time fraud detection

OuiRace never stores your banking details.

What is the refund policy?

The refund policy depends on each organizer. Before registering, check the event's terms on the race page.

In general:

  • Organizers set their own refund conditions
  • Some races are non-refundable
  • Others offer partial or full refunds depending on the cancellation date
How do I request a refund?

To request a refund:

  1. First check the race's refund conditions
  2. Contact the organizer via the event page or contact form
  3. Provide your registration number and the reason for your request

The organizer will process your request according to their policy.

How do I download my invoice?

To download your invoice:

  1. Sign in to your OuiRace account
  2. Go to "My Registrations"
  3. Select the relevant race
  4. Click "Download Invoice"

You can also find the invoice in the confirmation email received when you registered.

How do I use a promo code?

To use a promotional code:

  1. During your registration, look for the "Promo Code" field
  2. Enter your code and click "Apply"
  3. The discount will be automatically applied to your total

Promo codes have terms of use (validity, eligible races) defined by the organizer.

Account Management

Manage your profile, settings, and personal data

How do I change my email address?

To change your email address:

  1. Sign in to your account
  2. Go to My Profile > Settings
  3. Click "Change Email"
  4. Enter your new email address
  5. Confirm via the link sent to your new address
I forgot my password

To reset your password:

  1. On the login page, click "Forgot Password"
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Check your inbox (and spam folder)
  4. Click the reset link
  5. Create a new password

The link is valid for 24 hours.

How do I delete my account?

To delete your OuiRace account:

  1. Go to My Profile > Settings
  2. Scroll down to "Delete My Account"
  3. Confirm your choice

You can also contact our DPO at dpo@ouirace.eu to exercise your right to erasure (GDPR).

Warning: This action is irreversible. Your data, registrations, and history will be permanently deleted.

How do I view my past races?

To view your race history:

  1. Sign in to your account
  2. Go to My Profile
  3. Check the "Race History" section

You'll find all your participations with your times, rankings, and certificates (if available).

How do I change my profile photo?

To change your profile photo:

  1. Go to My Profile
  2. Click on your current photo or the edit icon
  3. Select a new image from your device
  4. Crop if needed and save

Technical Issues

Solutions to common problems and technical support

The app crashes, what should I do?

If the OuiRace app is having issues:

  1. Update the app to the latest version
  2. Restart your phone
  3. Clear the cache (Settings > Apps > OuiRace > Clear Cache)
  4. Reinstall the app if the problem persists

If the problem continues, contact us with details (phone model, iOS/Android version).

The website isn't loading properly

If the OuiRace website isn't displaying correctly:

  1. Clear your browser cache
  2. Try a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
  3. Disable extensions that might be blocking content
  4. Check your internet connection
My activity was rejected, why?

An activity can be rejected for several reasons:

  • Insufficient distance - The activity doesn't cover the minimum required distance
  • Outside period - The activity was recorded outside the race period
  • Inaccurate GPS - Too many missing or inconsistent GPS points
  • Wrong activity type - The activity isn't of type "Running" or "Trail"
  • Abnormal speed - The average speed exceeds the allowed limits

Check the rejection details in your participant area.

My results aren't showing

If your results aren't visible yet:

  • Processing time - Results can take up to 24 hours after the race closes
  • Check your activity - Make sure it's properly synced and validated
  • Race period - Verify your activity was completed during the allowed period

If after 24 hours your results still don't appear, contact support.

How can I improve GPS accuracy?

To get the best GPS data:

  • Wait for GPS signal before starting (fixed GPS icon)
  • Avoid tunnels and dense forests at the start
  • Wear your watch correctly (snug on your wrist)
  • Update firmware on your watch
  • Enable GPS + GLONASS/Galileo if available

For Organizers

How do I create a race on OuiRace?

To create a race:

  1. Create an OuiRace account if you haven't already
  2. Access the Organizer Dashboard
  3. Complete your organizer profile (identity verification required)
  4. Click "Create an Event"
  5. Fill in your race information (dates, distances, prices, etc.)
  6. Submit for validation

Our team reviews each event before publication.

What are the fees for organizers?

OuiRace applies a commission on each registration. Fee details are available on our Pricing page.

The commission covers:

  • The registration platform
  • Payment processing
  • GPS activity validation
  • Real-time ranking
  • Technical support
When and how will I receive my payments?

Payments are transferred according to the following schedule:

  • Weekly transfers after each week of racing
  • Final transfer within 7 days of the event closing

Payments are made to the verified bank account in your organizer profile.

How do I manage my race participants?

In the Organizer Dashboard, you can:

  • View the complete list of registrants
  • Export data to CSV/Excel
  • Send emails to participants
  • Manage refunds
  • Add registrations manually
  • Track activities and results in real-time
How do I create promo codes for my race?

To create promotional codes:

  1. Access your race in the Organizer Dashboard
  2. Go to "Promo Codes"
  3. Click "Create a Code"
  4. Define: the code, the discount (% or amount), validity, max uses
  5. Save and share the code
Can I customize my race page?

Yes, you can customize:

  • Images and banners
  • Detailed description (rich text format)
  • Practical information
  • Rules and regulations
  • Categories and distances
  • Custom questions in the registration form

Privacy & Data

Your GDPR rights and personal data protection

What data is collected?

OuiRace collects the following data:

  • Account data: name, email, profile photo
  • Activity data: GPS tracks, distance, time, speed (via Garmin/Strava)
  • Payment data: processed by Stripe, not stored by OuiRace
  • Registration data: information provided when registering for races

How is my data protected?

OuiRace takes data protection very seriously:

  • Encryption of all communications (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Secure storage in the European Union
  • Full GDPR compliance
  • Restricted access to personal data
  • No selling of data to third parties
Can I export my data?

Yes, in accordance with GDPR, you have the right to data portability. To request an export:

  1. Contact our DPO at dpo@ouirace.eu
  2. Indicate your data export request
  3. We will send you your data in a standard format (JSON/CSV) within 30 days
Who can see my activities?

You control the visibility of your activities:

  • Public profile: Your name and time appear in rankings
  • Activities: Your route details are only visible to you
  • Privacy settings: Adjust visibility in My Profile > Settings
What are my GDPR rights?

As a European user, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access: view your personal data
  • Right to rectification: correct your data
  • Right to erasure: delete your account and data
  • Right to portability: export your data
  • Right to object: refuse certain processing
