Rainforest to Reef Ironamn

About

Fundraising forSEA SHEPHERD
April 17, 2026 - June 15, 2026

On 15/06 I'll be taking on one of the most iconic and challenging endurance events in the world, Ironman Cairns, racing 3.8km through the warm waters of the Coral Sea, 180km on the bike through the tropical rainforest hinterland, and finishing with a full 42km marathon run through the heart of one of Australia's most stunning coastal cities. But this isn't just a personal challenge. It's a race for the ocean. I'm linking my Ironman journey to Sea Shepherd's Fit for the Ocean Challenge, a global movement that turns individual athletic effort into direct action for marine conservation. Every kilometre I swim, ride and run is being done in service of the ocean that makes events like this possible, and the marine wildlife that depends on us to protect it. Cairns sits at the meeting point of two of the world's most precious ecosystems, the ancient Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef, the largest living structure on Earth. It's one of the most biodiverse and ecologically significant places on the planet, and it's under threat. Illegal and destructive fishing practices, habitat destruction and climate change are devastating marine ecosystems like the Reef at an alarming rate. Sea Shepherd stands on the frontlines, running direct-action campaigns to stop illegal fishing, defend fragile marine habitats and protect ocean wildlife. They don't just raise awareness. They intercept illegal fishing vessels, document destruction and enforce conservation laws in places.

Help me reach my fundraising goal for Sea Shepherd's Fit for the Ocean Challenge

I'm taking part in this challenge to support Sea Shepherd and their work protecting marine life around the world.

Right now, our oceans are under increasing pressure. Sea Shepherd works on the frontlines to stop illegal fishing, protect marine wildlife, and defend fragile ocean ecosystems through direct action at sea.

By donating, you're helping protect the ocean and supporting me in completing this challenge.

Every donation, big or small, makes a real difference.

Please donate if you can.

Thank you
